The best dive sites in La Palma are mainly located on the west and south coasts, where the ocean is more protected from wind and currents 🌊.

🤿 Puerto Naos is one of the main hubs for diving in Puerto Naos. It offers easy access, sandy volcanic bottoms and rock formations. Depths range from 5 to 30 meters, making it ideal for training and beginner dives 🐠.

🌋 Fuencaliente is one of the most spectacular areas on the island. Formed by lava flows reaching the ocean, it features underwater arches, lava tongues and vertical walls. Some dive sites exceed 40 meters depth, making it better suited for experienced divers 🤿.

🐢 Tazacorte is known for its stable sea conditions and excellent visibility. It is commonly used for Open Water and Advanced courses 🎓 and offers a mix of sandy and rocky seabeds with abundant marine life.

🐠 Marine Life in La Palma

La Palma’s marine life is constantly evolving due to its volcanic nature 🌋.

Divers can commonly see groupers, moray eels, rays, octopus and large schools of fish 🐠. In deeper dives, you may encounter amberjacks and barracudas.

The volcanic seabed creates microhabitats where marine species settle and grow, especially in newer lava areas formed in recent years.
